woman selecting clothes

Let’s admit you’re kinda bored of your old outfits and you’ve worn them beyond repair, it’s time to check out the stores for new super trendy apparel… Wait!

Stop falling victim to trendy clothes that go outdated with time. Maybe one or two of them are okay, but the key to dressing up is to keep it simple, build your wardrobe with versatile pieces that pair together for a fashionable look, It’s all about mix and match. Here are 8 wardrobe essentials for spring and beyond.

Solid Color T-shirts

T-shirt is the first thing that came to my mind while creating this list, who doesn’t like a trusty pair of t-shirt that can be worn everywhere, except for formal events, of course. You have plenty of options when it comes to colors. You should have a couple of base color tees such as white, black, or navy additionally a few pastel colors such as pink, baby blue, lavender, or light green that are perfect for spring. As for the fit, it’s more of a personal choice. I find feminine cut shirts edgier compared to the straight fit unisex ones. However, if you’re a woman who prefers straight cut tee, there is nothing wrong with that either.

Stylish Black Dress

Floral dresses are perfect for spring, but here we are talking about essentials, so I’ve included the Black Dress. There is something about the black dress that feels new and wickedly chic every time you wear it. Secondly, it will never go out of fashion, at least not anytime soon.

A chic black dress is just as necessary as a t-shirt and jeans in your wardrobe. Wear it with pumps and pearl jewelry for a refined office look or wear it with heels, leather jackets, and some jewelry for parties or a fun date night.

Plain White Dress Shirt

Plain white Dress Shirts are minimal yet incredibly stylish; as mentioned above, fashion is about mix and match. Wearing a white shirt with a dark tone skirt is a great way to dress up for a relaxed spring look that can take you from the office to dinner effortlessly.

Casual Pair of Jeans

Jeans are go-to items that everyone loves, they’re not only comfy and casual but also require very little maintenance, and you can dump it in the washing machine when it’s dirty. It’s recommended to have at least a pair of jeans, one in black and the other in blue the more, the better. I currently have different shades of blue from light to dark. There are several cuts of jeans that one can find from the classic boot cut to the modern slim fit.

Chic Leather Jacket

Who doesn’t like a leather jacket? It’s perfect for spring when the temperature is not warm enough to ditch your layering, and it’s not chilly either. A leather jacket has the power to turn your minimalistic outfit into a complete banger within seconds; moreover, you can wear it with any of the items mentioned above. Looking to amp your style for a girls’ night out? Wear a red motorcycle jacket with a black dress and ankle boots. If you’re looking for office try the button up jacket with white shirt and skirt for an appropriate look, there are just examples to show how a leather jacket can serve as a basic layering piece. You don’t need to spend a fortune either, a decent quality jacket, and last for a year, which is an excellent value for money.

Midi Skirts

Midi skirts are perfect midseason pieces as you’re not quite ready for your miniskirts yet. You can find them in slim fit style made of stretchy spandex material and also loose fit made of cotton and chiffon. Moreover, you can opt for solid colors or polka dots to look effortlessly chic.

Flats

Flats provide the perfect amount of foot exposure, making it look more formal compared to other options. They also incredibly comfortable compare to your stiletto. If I had to select shoes that I could wear forever, I would pick flats. They’re available in various styles. Some of the most versatile include ballet flats, oxfords, and loafers.

Cross Body Shoulder Bag

Spring is the season of festivals and outdoor happenings, wouldn’t it be amazing to carry your essentials safely in a compact bag while you can keep your hand free at the event, throw a cross body shoulder bag to complete your look.

Fashion doesn’t need to be expensive; you can create so many attractive combinations just by mixing and matching these basic essentials. To boost your style, you can pair these outfits with additional accessories such as jewelry, hat, sunglasses, boots, etc. The key is to find pieces that resonate with your personal style.
