How to Sell a Home Fast: Looking to put your home up for sale? I put together five tips to help you sell your home quickly.
Almost 51/2 million existing homes change hands on an annual basis. Low unemployment, low mortgage rates, and rising wages are getting more buyers than ever into a home.
That bodes well for sellers but it doesn’t mean your house will sell itself. Are you looking to put your home up for sale?
I’ve put together five tips for how to sell a home fast. Keep reading for this helpful guide.
1. Find the Right Real Estate Agent
The right real estate agent is key, especially if you’re leaving the state. It’s not easy selling a home from a remote location. But the right agent makes all the difference.
An agent helps set a realistic price. She’ll also give great feedback about what your house needs for a quick sale.

2. Declutter and Stage
Decluttering is crucial. Clutter causes stress and makes your place appear smaller.
Go through closets, cabinets, and drawers and pare everything down. Throw away stuff you don’t need. Put the rest in storage.
Potential buyers will look inside closets and cabinets. Clean, well-organized cabinets and closets look bigger.
Remove personal photos as well as religious and political items. Keep the kitchen counters free of appliances.
Make sure each room has an obvious purpose by staging. If you have large overstuffed furniture taking up room, put it in storage.
3. Deep Clean
After sorting, purging, and decluttering, it’s time to clean. This is more than vacuuming and dusting. Deep clean every inch of the house.
Wet-dust the baseboards, wash the windows and clean the window coverings. Scrub the kitchen and bathrooms and clean the carpets. Everything in the house should shine.
And speaking of shining, replace any burned-out lightbulbs. Use the highest wattage possible in all your light fixtures. Most buyers look for bright spaces.
4. Paint the Interior
If the interior walls are beyond scrubbing, consider a quick coat of paint. Stick with neutral, light colors. This is especially important if you have any bright unusual colors on the walls.
5. Clean Up the Curb
It’s called curb appeal for a reason! Some buyers won’t come in the house if they don’t like the look of the outside.
Mow the lawn, trim the hedges, and rake the leaves. Pressure wash the exterior walls as well as the driveway and walkways.
If the front door looks worn, give it a fresh coat of paint. Put some pretty potted plants by the front door.
Now You Know How to Sell a Home Fast
Now you know how to sell a home fast! It takes a little elbow grease, time, and investment but it’s well worth it.
Contract with an experienced real estate agent who knows the area, then get to work. Declutter, deep clean, and paint the interior if necessary.
Make sure your house is as appealing on the outside as it is on the inside. This attracts buyers. Then sit back and sell your house fast.
